Quetzalcoatl

Quetzalcoatl, the Aztec sky god.

Over time, in the legends, his shape changed. From the full Feathered Serpent, to a sort of Naga form, to full human form with headdress etc. [link]

Since I'm not much good with serpent dragons, yet, I decided to try my hand at the Naga form and put my own twist on it. The design was loosely inspired by [link]

This took me quite a while but I had quite a bit of fun with it...though, those feathers nearly killed me x_X

This started in Photoshop, but a few things happened and I wasn't able to use it any more, so I moved to Paint Tool SAI. Which, I think, was the best possible thing to happen to me. I have fallen in love with SAI. It is so much easier to blend colours. Stuff this smooth would have taken me weeks of tweaking in Ps.

....He doesn't look very Aztec, does he? O_o
Oh well, he's still pretty.
